Caltech Symposium on HIV & Malaria: Saturday, May 3rd: 10am-2pm at Caltech

Africa's deadliest diseases, HIV and Malaria, are still evading a cure. But on Saturday May 3, from 10:00am-2:00pm in Ramo Auditorium, scientists and doctors from around the world will speak about new ways to conquer these devastating epidemics. The group of distinguished speakers will include Dr. David Baltimore, Nobel laureate and President Emeritus of Caltech ( virology超級大頭), who will speak about gene therapy for HIV, Dr. Joel Breman, who trained at USC Keck School of Medicine and is now the Senior Scientific Advisor of the Fogarty International Center of the NIH, and Dr. Bruce Hay of Caltech (陳大哥的老闆,最近很紅), who has developed a technique for engineering and spreading Malaria-resistance in mosquitoes.
The symposium is sponsored by the GEANCO foundation, a non-profit developing educational resources for Africans, and co-sponsored by the Caltech Y and the Caltech Alumni Association. Check out the website...http://www.caltechafrica.com...for more details. We hope you will join us as we learn about new solutions to two of the greatest challenges to Africa and the world.
